“I have said from the very beginning: if this system saves just one life, it will have all been worth it.”

Maximizing Comfort

Ballistic gear is heavy, and it’s hot. It impacts the wearer’s mobility, and it causes abrasions on the skin. Wearing the gear is essential for personal protection, but the discomfort factor often leads those who protect us to forgo wearing the gear altogether.

The TAS renders those objections moot. The compression-fit base layer wicks away sweat and keeps the user cooler and more comfortable. Eight specially-engineered shock absorbers are attached along custom panels to ensure an individuated fit for the service member’s body. The shock absorbers create a gap between the gear and the body, creating airflow channels that keep the member cool and comfortable - and much more inclined to wear critical protective gear.

Reducing Injuries

Ballistic gear is no friend to the skin of the one wearing it. Ill-fitting plates rub against the skin, leading to abrasions, open sores, and subsequent infections. It’s no wonder many professionals opt out of wearing the gear altogether.

Protective gear is standard, but people are not. The TAS is the only product on the market that makes the gear move WITH your body, not against it. By lifting the gear just far enough off the skin, plates and carriers don’t even make contact with the body. The adjustable shock absorbers put customization where it belongs: in the hands of the one who is wearing the gear. The TAS - by putting the space on the gear and not the body - makes it so that even standard gear can be worn with a custom fit.

The clearest way we save lives is by making it so that service members and law enforcement officers never forgo wearing their protective gear on account of its causing pain and discomfort. In fact, that was the original and only intent of our founder.

Ballistic testing has demonstrated even more powerful benefits. In the event of a ballistic strike, the TAS worn under bullet protective gear reduces back face deformation by up to 85%*. This means that even when a law enforcement officer, service member, or security guard is hit by a bullet, the impact to ribs, other bones, and internal organs - as well as the possibility of death resulting from such impact - is greatly decreased.

A Superior Choice

Our competitors offer solutions - they wick away sweat, some of them provide full torso coverage, and one even keeps your vest away from your body - by basically serving as a second vest.

Only the Talus Airflow System wicks away sweat, keeps your gear off your body, AND provides such a custom fit that your body moves with instead of against your gear.

Why? Because our technology starts with solutions that are best for your body instead of focusing first on the gear. The degree of comfort realized when wearing the TAS under your gear is unparalleled.

But the greatest benefit of all comes in the case of a bullet strike. NTS and other NIJ Certified Lab testing demonstrate that in the event of a ballistic strike, the TAS absorbs up to 85% of the impact, dispersing the energy and dramatically reducing the odds of broken ribs, internal injuries, and even death.
